So one of the best shows on television is back on. So you think you can dance season 5.
I just had to share the most recent wade robson routine. The dancers are supposed to be crash test dummies, one a brand new one and the other one who has been wrecked and put back together many times. The movement and fluidity is great, as well as the detail considerations like the never use there fingers, they keep there hands like a mannequin would. The performance class in the fall will have nothing to do with the technics of dance but this kind of thing gets me excited about the class

Amanda Kitts lost her left arm in a car accident three years ago, but these days she plays football with her 12-year-old son, and changes diapers and bearhugs children at the three Kiddie Cottage day care centers she owns in Knoxville, Tenn. Ms. Kitts, 40, does this all with a new kind of artificial arm that moves more easily than other devices and that she can control by using only her thoughts.

This plate designed by ami drach and dov ganchrow combines ceramic and technology together. using the conductive properties of silk-screened gold and amorphic metal films (in the same manner printed circuit boards or car windshield defrosters work) they created '+/- hot plate'. users simply have to hook up the plate to an electrical source
and the current will run through the 'decoration' keeping food stuff warm.

I am a storyteller at heart and I usually reserve them for face to face interactions but I have to share this, it is just to cute. My wife and I were babysitting a good friend of ours, Sonya, she is 3 years old and is amazing. Anyhow, she saw one of my tattoos and asked what it was, my wife told her that they were drawings that don't wash off. Sonya just stared at them and poked at one. A little bit later she started to get a little bit concerned about when her parents were going to get back and so we started spelling out mommy and daddy on my typewriter tattoo, she then wanted to spell robyn (her aunt) this led to the fact that I don't have an N in the tattoo so we drew one in, one thing led to another and she wanted to use us as a coloring book. It was a blast, as soon as she would finish coloring one in she would ask for more "drawings", what else could we do but give in. She also started to connect the "dots"(freckles) when she got distracted from coloring.

he Bloom device is meant to be a subversive and inspirational tool for our concrete jungles. Similar to the tuft of a dandelion as the wind carries the seedling, we propose a way of dispersing seedlings with bubbles and bicycling. Seeds are co-mingled with a bubble mixture and upon pedaling to your destination , you release the floating seeds which land in cracks and crevices throughout the city streets. Over time, the seeds grow into flowers and plants to create a green "fringe" to our sidewalks and streets.

This is Digital Pot (no: not what you're thinking,) a concept from designer Junyi Heo that's a 21st Century plant pot. It's filled with sensors measuring temperature, soil moisture and the like. It lets you know the results on a display with a mix of emoticons and symbols, so your plants can tell you what they want (and no: they probably don't want you to smoke them.) It's even clever enough to drain itself if you're a chronic over-waterer like me, and charges via USB— also sending its data to your PC for your perusal. JooYoun Paek describes Fold Loud as “a participatory musical interface based on folding wired paper using simple origami techniques. Basically, origami folding patterns and rhythms are converted into music. Each fold is assigned to different human vocal sounds so that combinations of folds create harmonic music. Folding multiple Fold Loud sheets at the same time creates a chorus.

Opened circuits made out of conductive fabric are visibly stitched onto the sheets of paper. When folded along the crease lines, a circuit is closed like a switch. The visible switches expose otherwise hidden technology to create a meta-technological aesthetic. They delicately sense when users touch and hold the sheet with their hands. The interface guides users to use different hand gestures such as flipping, pushing, and rubbing when they create various shapes and musical patterns. Experiencing Fold Loud offers a continuous discovery of geometric changes through paper, hand gestures, and harmonic sounds.”

The collection includes a Sheet Thief, which “winds the bedclothes up on the other side of the bed while you’re sleeping,” the designer says. Other joys of sharing a bed are re-created with Cold Feet and a Heavy Breather that breathes hot air down the user’s neck. In the morning the Hair Alarm Clock swings hair across the user’s face to wake him, while the steel finger of the Chest-Hair Curler gently swirls his chest hair in concentric circles. To advertise the wide variety of options available to cut hair in the salon JuiceHair in India, a picture of a man to his forehead, was pasted on the base of the escalator of a shopping and several different cuts in each of the steps.

I love this clock

This is an amazing clock. Each bead in the necklace is 5 minutes. The whole necklace is one solar day. The orange and red ones represent the whole hours. As the wheel turns, one bead falls off and drops down the string every 5 minutes. To tell the time you count the beads from either the silver bead (midnight) or the golden bead (noon) to the last bead that fell off the wheel.
You can take the necklace off the wheel whenever you wish to “stop time”. Wear it proudly round your neck as a statement that time is part of you; that you are in control of your own minutes.

This is an art school (Nanyang Technical University). I wish this was my art school. How freaking amazing does this look. I am so happy to be at Georgetown College and I feel blessed to have the facilities we have and we work hard to make them the best we can, but if we (Dr. Decker, Greg Decker, Darrell Kincer, and Boris Zakic) could sneak in on the weekend and steal this building...that would be great. So lets plan on sometime this weekend to be busy.

Points of Jealousy:
1)I wish I could have lunch on the lawn on the roof.
2)I wish that in giving directions to our school we could say "look for the building that looks like hole 7 on the mini golf course minus the windmill"
3)Each of our faculty could have a floor.
4)We could have our own art library (which Greg would run of course)
5)Our awesome factor would go up by many points

the list could go on but i am mainly stuck on number reason number 2.
